These terms and conditions govern your access to and use of the GP Staff Academy website and courses (“the Service”). GP Staff Academy is the registered business name under which The Trustee for Potter Procurement Trust (ABN 72 199 119 851) supplies the Service. In these terms, “GP Staff Academy”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that supplier. By purchasing or using the Service you agree to these terms.
Our courses
GP Staff Academy provides online training for Australian general practice reception, administration, nursing, care coordination and practice management teams. Course content is non-accredited professional development for educational purposes. A completion certificate does not by itself establish workplace competency, guarantee an accreditation outcome or replace local induction, supervision, procedures or competency assessment.
Pricing and payment
The Comprehensive GP Receptionist Certificate is AU$20 per learner. Fifteen focused courses are AU$10 each per learner. Complaints, Aggression and Difficult Conversations; Infection Prevention, Clinical Waste and Reprocessing Readiness; and Everyday Infection Prevention for General Practice Staff are free. Paid prices include GST. Individual courses remain available separately. Arranged 12-month access to the current 19-course library costs AU$79 for one named learner, AU$299 for five, AU$499 for ten or AU$899 for twenty. Library enrolment is arranged with us before payment; online library checkout is not yet available. There is no automatic renewal. See the Pricing page for details. Payment for paid courses is processed securely at checkout through our third-party payment provider, and paid access is granted once payment is received. Free courses require a learner account and enrolment, with no payment.
Access and licence
On purchase, we grant the named learner a personal, non-transferable licence to access the course for 12 months from enrolment for their own use. For arranged library enrolments, the 12-month access period starts on the agreed activation date. We confirm the named learners and, for practice packs, the authorised completion-report recipient before payment. Practice reports contain assigned courses, completion status and completion dates for that practice’s learners. Each enrolment is for a single named user. Course logins and materials may not be shared, resold or distributed.
Suspension of access
If we reasonably believe that you have materially breached these terms, we may suspend the affected account or enrolment. Where practicable, we will tell you why and give you a reasonable opportunity to remedy the breach. We may act immediately where reasonably necessary to protect security, other users or our intellectual property. Suspension does not affect any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee. Please see our Refund Policy for details. Nothing in these terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in the Service, website, course materials and downloadable resources, including the POPGUNS urgent-cue memory aid (which is not a triage tool), are owned by or licensed to the supplier identified in these terms. Your enrolment gives the named learner a personal, non-transferable licence to use those materials for their own training during the stated access period. Except as permitted by law or with our written permission, course access and materials must not be shared, reproduced, resold or distributed.
Educational disclaimer
Our courses provide general educational information and practical guidance. They do not constitute legal, medical or professional advice. Where we describe how modules map to the RACGP Standards for general practices, this is provided as a guide to support your own processes and does not replace your practice’s accreditation or compliance obligations.
Medicare Benefits Schedule items, rebate amounts, incentives and consent requirements change regularly — often on 1 July and 1 November each year. Course content is reviewed for currency, but you should always check the current rules on MBS Online and Services Australia before relying on a specific item number, dollar figure or process. Dollar amounts in course material are illustrative. Where anything in a course differs from your own practice’s policies, follow your practice’s policies and raise the difference with your practice manager.
Our courses use fictional practice scenarios and, where identified, case studies drawn from published court, tribunal and regulator decisions and reports, summarised for education. They are included to teach safe systems of work, not as commentary on any individual or organisation.
Each course includes a private certificate of completion from GP Staff Academy. It is not an AQF qualification, is not nationally accredited, and does not carry CPD points. It records that the named learner met that course’s stated completion and assessment requirements.
Australian Consumer Law and liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee or any other right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
We do not limit our liability for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage that you are entitled to recover under the Australian Consumer Law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss that is remote or was not reasonably foreseeable.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and you submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
